The Pet’s Butler is a local dog grooming business, based in Calne, Wiltshire.
Launching as a brand new business at the start of 2023, Emma Dryden – Founder of The Pet’s Butler – sought the help of Add People to get her business on the map… or should we say, Google Maps!
And we had just the people for the job, our Known Locally team are experts were up to the task…
The Challenge
The main challenge was obvious, this was a completely new business, with a brand new website and no customers.
Furthermore, The Pet’s Butler was located in an area with a high density of competitors – making it even more difficult to make an impact in the market.
Not to mention the fact that Emma was putting her entire budget into this partnership… a lot was riding on this partnership being a success.

Our Strategy
More people are searching for local services on Google than ever before, so setting up a Google Business Profile (GBP) and optimising this for Google Search was crucial – if your business can’t be found online, you may as well be invisible.
The team optimised the GBP with keywords that were relevant to The Pet’s Butler’s target audience and matched the search intent of these potential customers.
They also began to frequently post on the GBP which signals to Google that The Pet’s Butler was a very active and current business – this was particularly advantageous, as a lot of their competitors were not regularly posting on their own GBPs.
Another part of this strategy included getting local citations across the web, like online directories – strengthening The Pet Butler’s authority on Google Search results.
Within the first month of the partnership, The Pet’s Butler began to climb above its competitors on Google Maps results…

From starting with absolutely zero website visitors or leads, 6-months down the line, The Pet’s Butler has achieved some transformational results:
