Google Business Profile views in August 2021

One month into a global pandemic, with the UK in national lockdown, Churrasco Steak House teamed up with Add People in April 2020.

This is a story of how their continued investment in Local SEO – despite extremely tough times for the hospitality industry – now sees them reaping the rewards.

The Challenge

It’s with no surprise, that the main challenge here was that of a national lockdown, with most, if not all restaurants being forced to close their doors.

With no revenue coming in, it would have been easy for Churrasco to suspend their investment in digital marketing.

However, they decided to press on, as they recognised the long term benefits of Local SEO.

The team at Add People were also having to adapt to the upheaval of the pandemic, by getting used to the new process of working remotely.

Our Strategy

Despite these hurdles, the experts at Add People continued to deliver targeted Local SEO work.

They focused on optimising a range of factors that determine local ranking on the Google search results page (SERP).

This included optimising Churrasco’s Google Business Profile (GBP) page, which considers elements like keywords in descriptions, geotagging photos, quality and quantity of reviews, GBP posts, etc.

SEO work can take time to ‘bed in’ before you really start to see the results, so the key thing here, is that Churrasco continued to invest in this work, despite lockdown.

The excellent work from the Add People team has had time to take effect and now that restaurants are opened up again, Churrasco are seeing an incredible return on their investment.

The Results

The continued optimisation of their local online presence has paid dividends…

In April 2020, Churrasco Steak House only received 50 direction requests, 64 calls and 11,540 views through their GBP.

In November 2021, they received 807 direction requests, 419 calls, and over 100,000 views of their GBP.

This translates to a staggering 1500% increase in direction requests, 550% increase in calls and 10x the amount of monthly views on their GBP page.

The campaigns have been so successful, that Churrasco are now opening a brand new restaurant!

For what has been a torrid time for the hospitality industry, this is a wonderful outcome and brilliant success story for local businesses!
